Positive: We had a wonderful time renting this six-bedroom house for a weekend getaway with our family of nine aged 9 to 77 - and our furry friend , so finding a house that meets our needs can be hard! . The house is a delightful mix of lots of old-world charm, making it a fun and unique experience. The owner Gus was quick to respond to snags or questions and provided useful tips for local days out. The house is spacious enough for everyone, but the real star is the extensive, enclosed gardens. Perfect for our dog and the kids to explore and have their own little adventures. There is a table that sits everyone in the garden, it is a little walk from the main house, but it’s shady setting - under an old vine and by a lovely willow made it feel secret and special. The BBQ is a little small for large groups - so grab some disposables if you are a large group. The kitchen has a large table enough to seat all of us for breakfast and lunch and enough crockery and utensils were provided - in the same antique quirky vibe as the rest of the house - which was lovely. The music room with a grand piano was a hit with the kids, and the formal dining room next door added a touch of elegance to our stay. There are six bedrooms and the bathrooms are all baths, with a mix of en suite and shared options, which worked out just fine for us. There is one walk in shower family bathroom downstairs, others are baths. The house is filled with fascinating memorabilia from its previous owners, adding to its quirky character. We didn’t miss having a TV, as there were plenty of other activities and a radio to keep us entertained. A Bluetooth speaker might be a good idea if you want to play your own tunes. Nestled in a peaceful village, the house is close to lovely country walks and just a five-minute stroll from a welcoming community pub with excellent food and live music. Overall, this place is a little bit different, but that’s what makes it so special.
