the 979 crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by galveston island on one end and surfside beach on the other On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. some much to do so little time!

san luis pass:
san luis pass and treasure island have been known all over the united states for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! it is 15 minutes from surfside and across the bridge from galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of galveston island's activities most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized" time with family, extended family, and friends!
