Positive: Yes, it is a memorable experience to stay in the old, mostly abandoned kasbah in a fairly authentic setting, and I am glad we did it, if only to have a chance to stroll through town before the tour groups arrive or to sit on their nice veranda at night. Dinner and breakfast as well as check-in were nice enough, but felt like a commercial operation without a personal touch. Luggage pickup by donkey to get through the river via stepping boards worked well. You are encouraged to use candles only but there are solar powered lamps and electrical outlets available in the rooms if needed. I certainly don't regret having stayed there, but felt it was a bit overpriced for room and sleep quality.
