Positive: It was ideal as we were looking for somewhere local for a group of family to get together for a week during Christmas to celebrate and relax. There is scope to be more cosy and comfortable with an extra snug attic space to be finished off to use with an extra TV. The whole place could do with some more personal home comfort touches but a fairly spacious and heated accommodation all on one accessible level with a large Kitchen/Dining area for family meal interaction and a Living/games room to sit/socialise together. 2 bedrooms have nice ensuites. Family shower room/toilet. Parking for 3-4 vehicles. Located within walking distance to the local village pub/shop and bus service.
Negative: Chosen for the family coming together at Christmas, we wanted to have a home from home feel during our stay. There were basic amenities at the property and we requested several items that were missing from the list of amenities as advertised. Staff did accommodate and provide most things upon request to ensure our stay was improved, but it did make the stay a little stressful and difficult to relax for the first few days waiting for them and managing with what we had. Some of the fixtures and fittings weren't finished off to a high standard and a concern with small children. Doors to most rooms didn't close properly and the floors weren't very clean throughout. We feel it almost met our expectations and over time they should get it right, especially if property is intended for groups of family/friends not aimed as a worker based accommodation, which is what it felt like for us. We have all stayed in other family aimed properties previously. in particular the 1st bedroom was warm but the double bed was very uncomfortable. Parking up a steep hill, set back from the busy road, noise levels were noticeable, so staying in summer time might cause concern to open windows etc.Outside spaces were untidy but didn't affect our winter stay.
