Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Location is very central, 10min walking to Edgware Road underground station. There are shops and supermarkets nearby, including a Aldi just next door. The apartment is very big and spacious as announced. It's nicely decorated. Kitchen is well equipped to cook all sorts of meals, with all appliances working fine and tea towels at disposal. There were shower towels for all 5 of us and some more stored away if needed. Shower worked well temperature and pressure wise. Wi-Fi worked well and was stable. The same for TV. Heating and fans also worked well. The bedroom area gets cold at night and we turned the heating on for our baby. Hosts provided a baby cot, which was very helpful. Comfy beds in the bedrooms.
Negative: Communication, although cordial, was lacking. I've tried to reach the hosts through booking first because we needed a baby cot, but had no reply for days. Had to use whatsapp. Even then, I felt it was kind of difficult to get an answer from them. (E.g. When we arrived, hand soap dispenser was empty. I asked where I could find some in the house and I am still waiting for an answer though we've left already. Also, someone left a package at the door. I don't even know if the hosts were expecting it, when I reported it I still had no reply...) Regarding cleanliness or the lack thereof, the apartment hasn't been properly vacuumed in months. The sofa and carpet in the living room were full of dust and hairs, to the point you could see it on the surfaces. My friend who slept there has no allergies and had trouble breathing and coughed all night due to the amount of dust all around. The same for the bedrooms, carpets haven't been cleaned in ages, and headboards were full of dust. We had to clean all cutlery, plates and glasses in the kitchen as they were greasy. Sofa is not really a sofa-bed, but a sofa that you can disassemble (sofa pieces are not fixed) and make some sort of mattress. It's not very soft, though. Bedrooms could use some extra surfaces like side tables to put things on. As other people have commented on, the bathroom sink leaks easily and floods the floor tiles - which was a minor inconvenience everything considered.
