Sea fishing from the beach at Silecroft is only 4½ miles to the north. Muncaster Castle with its gardens and Bird of Prey Centre or a trip on Ravenglass Steam train (dogs welcome) into the heart of the Lake District make good days out. There is something for everyone to discover in this little known corner of Cumbria. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 110 yards.
