location:
private home located on 50+ extremely private acres, bordering the pisgah national forest, 15 minutes outside of weaverville, & only 30 minutes north of downtown asheville You are 45 minutes to Asheville Regional airport, and 35 minutes to the gates of Biltmore Estate. You are also an easy 20 minutes from downtown Mars Hill.
it is fairly easy to access the home, via easy, paved roads, until reaching the private gravel road The home affords year round access to any and all vehicles, but may require an "all-wheel" or 4 x 4 drive vehicle if ice or snow are present. The driveway/private gravel road does have an incline approach to the home, so in the Winter exercise caution with potential ice, and year-round we suggest front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles.

as for whiskey rock, this fully modern farmhouse is located on a 50+ acre mountain estate, on your own private mountainside It is truly a mountain retreat getaway, or blissful hideaway. Get ready to be "wowed" by this 3,600+ sq. ft. spectacular modern, arts & crafts, farmhouse mountain style retreat lodge, and the cozy modern "hideaway cottages". With soaring vistas, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, exposed wood beams, eclectic decor, and hardwood floors, you will immediately feel at home at Whiskey Rock. (that is of course if you can tear yourself away from the views, sitting by the fire-pit & soaking in the spectacle of the blue ridge mountains, & actually venture inside!)
the great room, with stone fireplace, and fully equipped gourmet kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house, with plenty of space for all But, if you need some "alone time", there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 7+ outside porches, decks, screened porch and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation. Dogs are WELCOME as well! The estate consists of 3 separate structures; main lodge house (4-bedrooms/3 baths), and 2 separate “hideaway” studio/1-bedroom cottages,, Big Ivy & The Pisgah, which have a bedroom, small coffee station, and private ensuite bathroom. They each also have Sleeping Lofts with twin beds to accommodate families and/or larger groups staying at Whiskey Rock.
kids love getting out in and around the expansive estate property, and explore the other rolling outdoor areas The expansive patio & deck areas are all around the property. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. While everyone enjoys the outdoors & more, you can pull up a chair and take in the view, (the long & short range views are spectacular!!), observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fireflies come out to play in your backyard.
take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world There is a spring-fed pond, private areas, and there is also a grassy, flat area for the kids to run around & play! Whiskey Rock offers lots of acreage for nature walks and exploring, and other exercise on the mountain without leaving the property. Besides bordering additional hiking in the Pisgah National Forest, there is a community park with a pool just about 5 minutes from the estate called Big Ivy Community Club, The outdoor pool is open from 12:00 to 6:00 Monday-Saturday and 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday, and costs $3.00/person, free for ages 3 and under. The park is great w/ free basketball, volleyball, & playground. You are also just down the road a piece from Navitat Ziplines, and down the mountain from Wolf Ridge Ski Resort.
you are just minutes from america's favorite scenic byway, the blue ridge parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! or, take a quick ride to downtown asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment
