Summary: General: Stayed for 6 nights. When we arrived for a time of solitude and study we found there was no toilet paper in the home, and several lightbulbs were burnt out making it impossible to get enough light in any area for the work we had rented it to accomplish. After our arrival I contacted the manager the next morning. We had a discussion over text and he ultimately he made the two hour trip to bring us some TP and lightbulbs. I appreciate his willingness to go the extra mile. There has obviously been a great deal of work done at some point to make the house livable and that is good. The cleanliness of the home overall was decent but not great. The manager clearly seemed committed to our stay being enjoyable, but the cleaning did the bare minimums. When we arrived the porches and deck were unswept, the sliding door and window tracks were filled with dirt and mud, the dryer had lint for a season in the trap, and other details that I expected to be in better condition. The home does need some updating especially in the area of furniture to be truly comfortable. I would like to have seen at least a small supply of firewood for the wood burning stove as well. I do not want to nitpick and we did ultimately get our work accomplished and are thankful. I am truly impressed with the managers willingness to go the lengths he did to satisfy those things we brought to his attention, that's good stuff. It seems from observation that the routine care and preparation need work.
