Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Location was close to amenities. It was quirky and comfortable for the length of time we were there. Cosy, nice stone floors
Negative: Bed was too uncomfortable for us. The advert said it had river views, it doesn’t. The cottage is up a back alley, and the garden is overlooked by houses in front. I don’t know if the flat upstairs belongs to the owners, but the occupants were very noisy. Kids running about while we were trying to chill after walking. Unfortunately we had a very negative experience with the neighbours when we were packing the car to leave. The neighbour tried to block us in, for 3 hours. We explained that we wouldn’t be long, and even offered to move our car so he could pull up to his house. He was very aggressive, and it wasn’t until he realised my husband was unwell, that he agreed to move, and let us leave. Shame really. We’ve stopped in numerous homes, caravans and hotels in Bowness. Because of the negatives, we wouldn’t use this cottage again.
