those familiar with the black mountain architecture and design world will recognize the home as one designed and built by horace mcguire “mac” wood Horace was a “small house designer” who was part of the faculty at Black Mountain College in the early 1940s where he taught design and construction. After his career at the college, Mac designed homes throughout Black Mountain over the course of the next two decades. This home was built in 1947 and recently renovated with careful intention to keep the spirit of the home’s design intact.
