Summary: My whole family (kids, daughters in law, grandchildren, my wife and I) were so excited to spend the winter vacation in Houston. But we were shocked when we first entered the house and observed the dog bowl on the coffee table. We expected a tidy place, unfortunately house smelled stinky, the floor was dirty, couch is stained, all bedding and linens were dirty and full of hair. Fortunately from our experience my wife always brings her own pillows, bedding and linen but my children and spouses were very upset. We rent the house for 11 days and we found only 2 toilet paper in each bathroom with no cleaning detergent for the toilets nor for the floor. The bedroom dresser has no handles for the drawers, so we weren’t able to use them. Unfortunately, Houston was hit by a freezing storm which paralyzed the the water flow in the entire house except in one bathroom and that last for the rest of the staying period (the whole week) and on the top of all this, the landlord sent someone to enter the property to shutoff the hot water heater without our knowledge. So imagine that you are in vacation and not taking showers for 3 days. And no suitable alternative arrangements were made. We have to buy over 150 gallons of water to survive. As for the kitchen, they have nice gas stove and electric oven, small fridge comparing to the size of the house and not working properly. As for the trash. The trash barrels were overflowing since we arrived and continued to grow for double or even triple the size with no collection arrangements was made. A handyman who doesn’t speak English (we don’t have problem with that as long as he knows what he supposed to do) was sent to reinstate the hot water in the house and he couldn’t find the hot water heater for more than 2-3 hours. No trash bags to be found anywhere in the house. No proper apology was made. I never wished to damage anyone reputation, but I have to be honest for those who will intend to invest in their vacation time. My apologies if I hurt anyone feelings. But to come all the way from New England to Enjoy your vacation in Houston ago back home disappointed is not nice feelings
