Positive: Melvin Cottage is in a beautiful location with fine views from the rear of the property. Access to the coast path and beach is within a couple of hundred metres. The property is comfortably furnished and well-equipped and was clean and tidy when we arrived. The bathroom has an electric over-bath shower with a further shower handset, both of which were more than adequate, together with a heated towel rail. Tea-towels and hand-towels are provided. The host provides contact details and responded rapidly to our enquiries.

Negative: The main heating system for the property is comprised of electric storage radiators. We were at Melvin in late March, and the property was comfortably warm throughout the day but was cool at night. There is an open fireplace in the living area, but it would have been good to have other supplementary heating. The shower was fine, but a grab rail or handle would make it easier to get over the side of the bath.

Summary: A very enjoyable stay in a wonderful location.
