Eingebettet in idyllischer Natur liegt der Gschwendtnerhof auf einem Hochplateau auf 840m zwischen Aschau (5 km) und Bernau/Chiemsee (5 Km) am Fuße der Kampenwand und ist ganzjährig mit dem PKW erreichbar. Direkt vor der Haustür, eingebettet in idyllischer Natur, umgeben von Wiesen und Wäldern, bieten sich zahlreiche Möglichkeiten zum Wandern, Bergsteigen, Mountainbiken, Gleitschirmfliegen, Skifahren (Langlauf und Abfahrt) und Rasten in gemütlichen Almen, sowie eindrucksvolle Ausblicke auf die Berge und das "Bayerische Meer". Der Chiemsee mit vielen Bade- und Wassersportmöglichkeiten ist nur ca. 10 Autominuten entfernt. Von Ende Mai bis Mitte Oktober besteht eine Busverbindung vor der Unterkunft nach Bernau und zum Chiemsee. Eine Sauna steht zur kostenlosen Nutzung bereit. Ein abschließbarer Fahrradabstellraum sowie ein Ski-Raum und Gemeinschafts-Aufenthaltsraum mit Tischtennisplatte, Kicker und Spielmöglichkeiten für Kinder ist im Haus vorhanden. Eine Liegewiese mit gemütlicher Sitzecke vor dem Haus steht zur Nutzung bereit. Eine Gaststätte mit täglich wechselnden bayerischen und original-französischen Gerichten mit Biergarten befindet sich ebenfalls im Haus. Hintergschwendt ist ein ruhiger Ortsteil der Gemeinde Aschau im Chiemgau. Im Jahre 1984 wurde der Gschwendtnerhof als Ferienwohnanlage mit 26 Ferienwohnungen und einer Gaststätte im oberbayerischen Bauernstil neu erbaut. Der große Wanderparkplatz Hintergschwendt/Aigen von dem viele Wanderungen ins Gebiet der Kampenwand starten, ist nur ca. 500m entfernt. In der Region Aschau stehen viele MTB-Touren zur Verfügung, und man kann direkt vom Haus ins Vergnügen starten! Kostenlose Sauna mit Ruheraum, Gartennutzung mit Sitzgruppe.
