Travel Purpose: business
Positive: Location very scenic and peaceful, rather remote. Great for an unplugged weekend. (landline only, no cell service. But the Internet was very good.) The home was rustic, decorated in a charming way. Cozy living room with gas fireplace. Bedrooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. The deck had a lovely view of lake and mountains and a comfortable table and chairs.
Negative: The outside of the house, including side stairs and patio areas, were poorly maintained. For the high amount charged (over $500 per night), it seems that the owner could invest in a safer more up-to-date way of entering the side and back of house. While the deck's patio set was very adequate, the remaining patio furniture on the side and back were old and worn out. Also, not only was there no dishwasher, there was no plastic dishwashing tub or stopper for kitchen sink to wash dishes. There was no toaster or microwave.
Summary: Rustic accommodations in a lovely and peaceful setting.
