on the ground floor, there is a large living room with tatami floors and a “horigotatsu,” a traditional japanese style table where you sit on the floor, but your feet fall freely beneath you Past the bathroom and restroom is a western style kitchen looking out onto a private garden. The kitchen allows for easy cooking and is great for couples or large groups, and the small garden deck is great to enjoy the garden under the open sky.
uptairs, there are three bedrooms with a mix of western style beds and futons The master bedroom is very spacious with a double bed, while the other two futon rooms offer privacy for the other members of your party. There is a small balcony looking out to a shrine behind the house, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or sipping some famous Takayama sake.
