Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The beds were really comfortable and the location was excellent. I've visited Santa Luzia before, but had never been able to stay this close to the ferry to the beach, so the location was absolutely perfect.
Negative: The photos show a clothesline but don't make it clear that it's hanging from windows belonging to other guests. It's bizarre that while the patio is only accessible through the apartment I rented, all the windows from other apartments overlook this same patio - resulting in zero privacy. The windows have no mosquito screens (all were removed due to damage). This makes it impossible to keep windows open for cooling on hot days. The property has no air conditioning and only one fan in a bedroom that wobbles dangerously and seems ready to break. The kitchen is poorly equipped with few utensils, some extremely old. The cabinets, pots, and pans need a serious deep clean. For our standards regarding cleanliness and hygiene, cooking in that kitchen was impossible, which made our stay much more expensive than we had initially anticipated. The building's entrance gate is extremely noisy - it's IMPOSSIBLE not to hear people coming and going. During busy periods with guests arriving and leaving late, sleep can be... difficult.
