Positive: Driftaway indeed… My feet have only just touched the ground after spending four glorious nights at the very luxe Luxe villa at Driftaway on Dundas. Nestled way back from the street I was immediately struck by the beautiful surrounds and the peacefulness of the place. Walking into my villa, a huge room greeted me, lavishly dressed with chandeliers, fresh flowers, plush furnishings and the smell of essential oils. The king sized bed was made up in luxurious white linen and adorned with cushions and an electric blanket to take the chill off the evenings. And then I saw the bathroom. Wow! It was almost as big as the bedroom filled with an oversized bath, luxurious shower and huge double vanity. A crystal chandelier hangs over the bath and candles, big fluffy towels and a flatscreen tv complete the idyllic setting. A great sized private porch complete with bbq and seating is nestled out the back looking onto lush green gardens. This is truly a private oasis with only the sounds of waves crashing and birds singing interrupting the serenity. The property itself is perfectly situated just five minutes drive to Alba and the Peninsula Hot Springs. Five minutes in the other direction and you are at Rye beach and village. Blairgowrie, Sorrento and Portsea are only another ten to fifteen minutes away. My host Tina was nothing short of fabulous. She provided advice and recommendations of what to do and where to go whilst visiting her gorgeous property. She was available but never intrusive. It is clear from the thoughtful personal touches that she has designed this villa with the intention of providing people with a truly special home away from home. The Angel wings mural painted on the side of the villa adds the perfect touch of whimsy and magic! Sadly all good things must come to an end but I have left a piece of my heart on the Peninsula and will be back as soon as I can!! Thank you Tina for the best staycation ever.
