out of season, naxos town, about 20 minutes driving distance, has some excellent supermarkets and a general range of shops
kastraki beach is sheltered from the prevailing north wind
at 10 minutes driving distance there are 2 kite and wind surfing schools at orkos beach which is on the other side of mikri vigla
