Odéon is also home to Luxembourg Palace, an ornate 17th-century edifice surrounded by formal gardens. The nearby Musée du Luxembourg is a wonderful place to get a dose of culture, as is the Musée Zadkine, which displays sculptural works. Odéon is known for its many excellent bookstores, as well as the cafes, bars, and restaurants that cater to students at the nearby University of Paris.
