Positive: There was excellent parking available. The outside area was attractive and well maintained with lots of seating. The cabin was a nice addition although we didn’t use it. Inside, the bedrooms were a good size, comfortable with nice bedding. The kitchen had enough equipment for basic cooking but was a bit of a squeeze for 2 adults prepping food together. Dining area was adequate. Lounge area was basic…..we had poor weather so we’re indoors more.

Negative: On arrival, we realised the previous clients had had dogs in the property. I knew the property was pet friendly but didn’t expect to find fine black dog hair everywhere. The sofas and rug in lounge were unusable even after our massive effort with the hoover. The cabin had the same problem. I appreciate it can be hard to keep pets off furniture but it means a much higher level of cleaning is needed. We had bad weather……We had a leaky roof in the en suite bathroom which dripped out through a light fitting in the ceiling. I felt unable to use the lights in there all week in case it fused the house. I appreciate it could not be fixed immediately but having contacted the owner on Day 1 there were no courtesy calls or texts during the very wet week to indicate any concern about their guests.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay but we felt let down by a number of things including cleanliness
