Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The property was a small static caravan on a small but nice quiet site with lovely views. Maybe due to the time of year the shop on site and pub across the road were closed, but this didn't affect our stay. The property was cosy and adequate for our stay. The owner left a lovely welcome hamper and there were also toys and games to keep my granddaughter aged 6 occupied. I found our bed comfortable and warm. We had booked this to spend a few nights away to celebrate my son's 30th birthday.

Negative: As soon as we entered the caravan the SMELL of stale cigarettes was overwhelming which made us feel the place was 'grubby'. It was like a heavy smoker had lived there for years with the smell embedded in the furnishings. We found air freshener but no matter how much we sprayed the awful smell remained throughout our stay, which was a shame. Initially we couldn't get the TV channels to work and had reset everything. There was no WIFI, so had to use my daughter's hotspot for Netflix etc. My daughter said her single bed was uncomfortable due to some of the springs being worn. With the corridor being very small and narrow it doesn't allow you to open both of the bedroom doors at the same time. My husband was unable to sleep due to the smell and had to open the bedroom window during the night. On the last morning before leaving there was no hot water.

Summary: It's such a shame because all the good things about our stay were spoiled by the awful smell.
