only a short 35 hour drive from downtown Chicago, Hastings is convenient for a weekend getaway. The house has 2 large bedrooms and 2 large family rooms, and can easily accommodate 10 adults with the pullout couches and futon.
this property is very kid-friendly as well The lake has a sand bottom and slopes gently, providing a safe area for kids to swim and play in the sand. There is a large yard next to the beach that's perfect for soccer/wiffle ball/volleyball or just chasing fireflies. When it's time for lunch, the large side deck provides a great view of the lake so you can grill while still being able to watch the kids at the beach. The second floor deck offers wonderful sunset views of the lake as well.
in case you forgot to bring anything, the town is only a 5 minute drive to the grocery store, a movie theater, a micro brewery and many quaint shops
