The main Deschutes river is a 5-minute walk and the river canal loop is right is here on the property in the spacious shared backyard. Enjoy the pond and fire pit and soak up the wildlife that will pass right by. Endless trails just a short drive away or stay “home” and be still in the peace and quiet for some restorative rest. 25 minutes south of downtown Bend, 8 minutes to Sunriver Resort & 30 minutes from Mt. Bachelor.
the space:
the cottage is a studio separate from the main house where we live next door There's a Tempur-pedic queen mattress and pillows. A small dining table which doubles as a desk for writing your novel while staring out into the trees. There's WiFi which works great for Zoom calls and Netflix on your devices (there's no TV). There's a cozy chair and plenty of space on the floor to stretch out on your yoga mat or cuddle with your dog (easy-going dogs only please). There's basic kitchen amenities like a toaster oven, french press, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, fridge and microwave.
guest access:
in the winter you can xc ski right out the front door and in the summer you can float right out the backyard, have a picnic or read a book in a hammock There's a spacious shared front yard and huge back yard that has a dock overlooking the peaceful river canal. If you have a SUP, canoe or kayak you can put in there and paddle 15 minutes into the main Deschutes river.
other things to note:
the backyard is shared - it's very spacious and you're so welcome to make yourselves home back there You have to walk around the main house to get to the backyard and pond and canal so the cottage doesn't have a direct water view but it does have lots of trees and a big lawn that it overlooks. Also, the Deschutes River goes dramatically down in the winter so it looks a bit different than in the pics during this season..
