our authentic dominican home offers safe, clean lodgings with the perfect mix of beach time and true dominican culture all available in the tranquil and beautiful country village of macao We are the only guest lodgings in Macao operated by a Dominican (and his Canadian wife). We are happy to offer true and honest insights into the real Dominican life and what it takes to survive here.
only a 15 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the dominican republic, 15km outside of touristy punta cana bavaro and 30km from punta cana international airport
our private guest room has a new and very comfortable queen size pillow top mattress and a locking door It has a private entrance to the shared bathroom and a window that looks to the plantain grove next door.
there is a sectional sofa in the common area that can accommodate 2 adults or children We have an additional mattresses and air mattress and can accommodate up to 8 people in total. Each bed comes with clean sheets, pillows, blanket and towels. There is a beautiful breeze that comes through the house and it is quiet cool here by the ocean so we do not need air conditioners but do have fans available. We have a modern indoor bathroom (shared) with lots of hot water for showering and a hair dryer is available upon request.
there is internet throughout the property Our common area has a dining table, sectional sofa, television, domino table, checker board and work space for your enjoyment.
we have a private backyard patio with shade where you can enjoy some outdoor time under the coconut tree Just be on the lookout for falling coconuts! We also have mango's, passion fruit, papaya, plantains, avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers growing. A nightly bonfire is available upon request.

the neighborhood
we are located across the street from the newly built public school so the joyful sounds of local children playing can be heard and you can interact with them in the street Many tourists visit Macao for it's beautiful beach so the locals are very eager to say "hola" when given the chance.
getting around
for a fee we can provide transportation by car or motorcycle at much lower prices than the local taxis We are also more than happy to coordinate excursions for you or be your personal tour guides.
it's never really hard to get where you want to go Within a 3 minute walk are stores selling groceries, beer, cigarettes and clothing. There is an internet center and a restaurant offering typical Dominican food. We are a 15 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic and 15km outside of touristy Punta Cana Bavaro if you want to venture out. There is a public bus that passes through the village and from Fruisa you can transfer onto a different bus that has routes to major destinations like Higuey, La Romana, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata etc.
