island life disclaimer: all travelers should know before visiting the island that power and water outages can occur in all areas of puerto rico In the San Juan/ Carolina area, power outages are not common, but when they do occur the power may be out for a few hours. Though not ideal, it is a great excuse to take a beach nap or even take a short trip to explore another part of the island where the power is on. Water outages are more common and can last more than a day. For this reason, WE HAVE WATER CISTERNS AND GENERATORS, you should not have any water issues but sometimes it may take time for it to come back on as HOA is managing it. Please message us for more details if you have any questions/concerns about outages. We stick together in Puerto Rico and are always here to help!.
