camp peace and shroom are the only 2 campsites out of our 3 sites that can harbor campers/rvs/trailers The maximum size of Camper/RV/Trailer that Camp PEACE and Camp SHROOM can accomodate is 20 foot long. Our parking lot/turnaround area is about 42 feet wide so maneuvering larger rigs may be difficult. We do NOT have electric, sewage, and water hookup at these sites. So these are Drycamping or Boondocking sites.

we give our guests space but if they need us we live on the property down the main driveway Our place is approximately 3/8 of a mile Northwest (in a direct line down in the valley) from the Primitive Campsites. We are in the Barn House.

Those being the Hocking Hills Visitor Center, Laurelville Fruit Company , Salt Creek Valley Bank ( AKA Vinton County Bank), Youngs Family Market, Gas Station, Family Dollar, Whites Hardware Store, A Grain Mill, Car Wash, USPS Post Office, and 6 restaurants. Those 6 restaurants are The Ridge Inn, The Village Café, Old Town Diner, L & J's Ice Cream & Pizza, Mam's Rusted Skillet, and Laurelville Pizza. We are particularly fond of Laurelville Pizza due to the delicious vegan/plant based pizza they make upon request. Doug and Tiffany, the husband and wife combo that run Laurelville Pizza, make delicious food. We order our pizza with, or without, vegan cheese. If you have interest in the vegan cheese, we recommend calling a week ahead to give them a chance to make sure its stocked.

raven's retreat is a beautiful, 58 acre property located in the hocking hills, 17 miles east of Laurelville, Oh. With 2 separate 1/2 mile long driveways, one to access the top of the ridge and one to go down in the valley, this land has remained mostly untouched. It was purchased due to its resemblance to the deep woods of West Virginia, home to Raven's mother, Lisa Mahaney. The property is dear to us and we do everything we can to protect and maintain it in its natural state. It contains 4 creeks, hiking trails, a pond, and the top of a ridge. There are several endangered species including whippoorwills and two lined salamanders that reside at Raven's Retreat. There is an abundance of wildlife present due to keeping this property as wild as possible. While no hunting or fishing is allowed, wildlife viewing, and birdwatching is encouraged. We are working with local environmental specialists to ensure that we create a thriving, healthy place for ALL life.
keeping human traffic low on the property is what has made it so beautiful Along our challenging trails we have 2 Functional Fitness Stations and 2 dedicated Meditation Areas. There are about 2 miles of Hiking trails on the property that are not heavily traveled. The elevation change from the top of our ridge to the deepest part of our creek bed is over 220ft. If you plan to hike our trails, please keep strong scents such as perfumes to a minimum. This is often overlooked, but it can be confusing and disturb the wildlife. We greatly respect our water, and have natural springs here on the property. More important to us is that our guests have a quality experience rather than flooding the woods with a lot of people.
if you want to venture out, there are also many famous parks with hiking trails in the area, such as rockhouse, conkles hollow, and many other hocking hills state parks and preserves
quiet hours are to be honored from 8 pm to 8 am A respectful noise level is to be kept in consideration for our neighbors and nocturnal animals. Please note, we do consider the effects of light pollution and use particular lights to lessen our impact on other creatures. Please use yellow, green, or low lights at night. We do not allow quests to use bright white lights at night.
we love animals but in the past, domestic animals such as dogs and cats have attacked our wildlife more than once so we ask that guests keep them leashed or tied out at all times This applies to service animals as well. We do not allow domestic animals to free roam on the property, in open areas, or within the woods.
our space is for all peaceful people and we recommend the mentality of, "we're here together, so let's learn to live well together"
we have been vegan lifestyle coaches for years are known for introducing people to plant derived foods, so don't be surprised if we offer you some plant derived food while you are here
