Travel Purpose: business
Positive: There is a continuous supply of electricity and a WiFi connection; even during load shedding sessions, you remain undisturbed. Good kitchen utensils, a fridge, and a beautiful bathroom are also available.
Negative: The place is good, however, there could be some structural issues overlooked during the time of construction. The reason I say so is that the room had mold growth on the walls. I belive in view of that my host decided to paint the cottage a day before I arrived and I was exposed to the paint fumes. This was not good for especially because I was only notified about the painting a day before I went into the cottage and left with no option to consider especially because other areas were already booked. So in a nutshell, my health was not prioritized. Indeed when I went into the cottage the bedroom paint was still wet and one could pick it with a finger when run over the wall. Secondly I found a fan on at the bedroom and I was asked to keep it on all the time without any explanation on the reason which I was able to figure out after sometime when I realised that the bedroom had continuously wet walls. Thirdly on the third day I realised that mold was growing on the walls. I alsonoted that snails and ants were crawling on the walls. Lastly I was offered cleaning services at a fee,which I felt it is unfair when the actual cause of the place to be dirty was inevitable as the walls had mold, snails and ants crawling everywhere. Laslty the mode of making payment was hell. Booking confirmation stated that no cash allowed and when I arrived at the property I was expected to produce cash. Coming from another country with limitations on cash withdrawals, I found myself struggling to balance between making accommodation payments, bank charges and having cash to take care of my day to day needs. So I had no money for boarding taxis as one cannot find POS machines in public transport and no money to purchase anything I wanted along the street as I had to withdraw cash and make payments with the whole amount withdrawn for 7 days.
Summary: It was good but not so good.
