Positive: This place was very aesthetically pleasing and clean overall. Kitchen was well equipped for the most part. A/C really helped considering outside was always quite hot & humid. Multiple charger adaptors and cords were provided. Plenty blankets and towels were available for use. The host Charlotte and a male were very friendly and picked us up from Cadis-Market to drop us off at the apartment since we had difficulty locating it. Charlotte also provided lots of information regarding ferries, taxis and the building we were staying in. There was fairly prompt communication via Whatsapp with the host.
Negative: Something is wrong with the communication on here. Messages from the host were going to my email instead of being received directly in the booking.com app. The apartment address is slightly incorrect as there are 2 different areas mentioned (Sandy Ground and Baie Nettle), so this made it difficult finding the place. Sandy ground is nearby, whereas the apartment is actually in Baie Nettle. Directions on how to locate the apartment were received by my email a few days after checking in for some odd reason… On the day of arrival, I had to call the property/host through the app multiple times before receiving a call back through Whatsapp. Check-in could have been more smooth. There were no extra garbage bags or extra toilet paper provided so we had to get our own. When I told the host about no extra garbage bags, she suggested buying some from the grocery store nearby, but of course that was inconvenient as it should’ve been provided for our stay. The garbage dumpster is also located outside of the building. There was also no tissue paper or paper towel provided for the kitchen, so we had to purchase our own. The property is quite far from restaurants and activities, so I definitely recommend renting a car or having a driver! There are maybe 2 restaurants within walking distance and 1 was closed due to it being “low season.” We saw a cockroach in the kitchen area 3 nights in row and sent proof to the host via Whatsapp. When I made the host Charlotte aware of this, she thought it was a result of food being left out when this was not the case! My partner and I were uncomfortable being downstairs in the night because of this. Some tiny ants also appeared in the upstairs bathroom near the end of our stay. Ants may have been a result of just being on an island or rather a sign that something needs to be done to the place…
