Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Initially finding the location had its challenges (do not follow the GPS route!) and it is best to meet by the church in the main square where you can then be shown where the property is. Dimitris and Marina were wonderful hosts, as were Uncle Georgios and Aunt Maria. I was made to feel at home immediately, and had a wonderful first evening drinking raki with the hosts!! The accommodation has everything you need and as it was cold in Jan and I was able to use the excellent log burner. There are convenient shops nearby where you can buy pretty much anything you need. There is a wonderful cafe, Mixailos Palace, that does excellent coffee and heavenly hot chocolate. The restaurant Kafenio Karampoutze served a great local dinner with wine for only Euros 15 that was fantastic! The 2 gyros takeaways nearby were brilliant too. Wherever I went I was made to feel most welcome, and was brought free coffees or drinks in several locations; such wonderful and friendly people in Krousanas and Crete generally. I thoroughly recommend staying here, I had a wonderful time as there is so much to do nearby (you need transport, I hired a car from the airport that was quick and easy). I can't thank Dimitirs and Marina enough for being such gracious hosts, and of course Georgios and Marina (watch the raki!!).
