"High On The River" is a peaceful escape along the upper Steinhatchee River. Located down a dead end road in the woods. Across the river is Conservation Land so you will hear lots of birds, crickets, owls, and frogs. If your lucky you may even spot deer, wild boar, bobcats, otter, gators, or manatees. This is a natural "Old Florida" environment complete with critters and bugs. Bug spray is recommended when outdoors during the warmer months. Launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe from the floating dock and paddle up-river to Steinhatchee Falls or down-river to the Gulf of Mexico. Plenty of yard space for a trailered boat which can be launched at the Taylor County Boat Ramp only a 10 minute drive. The upper Steinhatchee River is only suitable for small boats such as a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or small Jon boat. Also, the upper portion of the River is affected by the tides so it can get very shallow and rocky in some spots during low tides.

The water heater is an on-demand system, assuring all guests have a nice warm shower after a long day. Large screened in porch facing the river with rocking chairs and sectional sofa. Perfect spot for that afternoon nap. The washer and dryer are also located on the porch.
