Elk Ridge Cabin is located near the Mogollon Rim, among the White Mountains. Situated in an association setting in the Bison Ranch community. It is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours drive from Phoenix, Arizona.
the high elevation of 6500 feet provides great winter weather for all winter sports Approximately 1.2 hours away is the Sunrise Ski Resort. The summer months are between 25 - 30 degrees lower than Phoenix and surrounding areas. If you decide to bring up a trailer to the cabin for your ATV s we need to be notified ahead of time. The trailers need to be parked in the driveway, it cannot be left on the road. The driveway can sustain 2 vehicles or 1 vehicle and a trailer .
the neighborhood is quite and relaxing There is a catch and release pond that is visible from the front deck. There is a basketball court and tennis court available, that is walking distance from the cabin. We supply the basketballs and tennis rackets with the tennis balls for your usage .
this cabin is beautifully furnished with quality furniture It has a propane fireplace encased in stone. The cabin comes with Dish Satellite and Wi-Fi. The ceiling is vaulted and constructed of full maple wood. The living room has a flat screen television and DVD player. We also have board games and some toys for kids to enjoy .
the kitchen has everything imaginable for your cooking pleasures A microwave and dishwasher are included, along with a spice rack to make your stay more enjoyable.
the cabin has a front and back deck We have a propane grill for those who enjoy cooking outdoors, side burner included. There is also a picnic table and chairs if you choose to eat outside. For nights you want to sit around the firepit and make smores, this is also possible in the backyard. We do supply firewood for the pit. Please be aware of FIRE RESTRICTIONS on the days you want to use the firepit. From the front deck of the cabin you can see the catch and release pond . Near the pond is a playground for children. With the rentals of any of our four cabins you get a 5 % discount for horseback riding at the Ramey Ranch . This is within walking distance of the cabin. If you have 7 or more riders you will be given a family discount for the horse back riding. When you rent one of our cabins please let us know if you are interested in the horseback riding we will call and secure the discount for you .
we do allow pets, however, at this time we do not have a fence up A dog crate is required for your pets and they need to be in the crates if left in the cabin unattended. Please pick up after your pets.
we do have 3 other cabins if you have a large group of people The cabins are all within a 2 minute walk of each other. Just inquire if you're interested.
several of the merchants in overgaard off discounts if you stay in one of our cabins The first one is with the horse back riding (Wayne ) . He offers 5% off . You just need to tell us on which day and how many people would like to ride . We will let him know. The second one is Red Onion Restaurant. When you rent one of our cabins a coupon will be left for you at the cabin.. The food is excellent.
there is a property fee of 5900 dollars which covers up to 1500.00 of damage . This is non refundable. There is no large security deposit .
there are several lakes surrounding the heber / overgaard area : woods canyon lake , 20 miles west of the cabin Willow Springs Lake , 15 miles west of the cabin . Black Canyon Lake , 10 miles west of the cabin . Show Low Lake , 30 miles east of the cabin . They are stocked periodically with fish . Each lake has several species of fish but as the types you would need to ask or google the lakes . There are boat rentals at some of the lakes.
when bringing a dog to the cabin , you are required to have a dog crate The dog(s) can not be left unattended in the cabin unless they are in the dog crates . Any time the dogs leave the cabin , they have to be on a leash . You are responsible for picking up after the dog (s) after they go the bathroom. They are not allowed in others yards .
if you are bringing a trailer That can not be parked at the cabin . There is a designated area by HWY 260 by the entrance of the association. You will need a trailer lock to protect your trailer ..
