this is a cool place with some historical references In 1998, Kelli bought the place to live in and considered painting over the Alaska-themed mural. Still, some of the Girdwood residents lobbied against it, including the librarian, who stated that it was her dog painted on the property. She never painted over the mural, and now it seems appropriate to keep it that way. The cabin was built in 1964, and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and a block foundation installed, creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later, the lower level housed "the bike shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit.
