Summary: This house is certainly unique. The stained glass and original woodwork is beautiful. While it is easy to appreciate the historic significance of the home, it is not a comfortable place to stay. The beds are horrible. Cheap, crunchy mattresses. Pillows and bedding are awful. The towels are old, stained, and smelly. The kitchen and bathroom were dirty like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. The washing machine is broken but that is not disclosed. I put a load on to wash and spent 2 days trying to get it to wash and rinse and spin so that my clothes weren’t sopping wet to pack to go home. One morning we were woken at 6am to 2 homeless people fighting in the backyard!! Like not in the alley, but 8 feet from the open window. There is zero outdoor space to enjoy. The parking situation in the back is very tight for anything larger than a smart car. The only bonus to this house is the proximity to downtown and all the great restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you want to be where the action is and don’t care about comfort, then this is the place for you!!
