Positive: Tom was a very helpful and communicative apartment manager. His communication over WhatsApp was great, full of insider hints/tips/knowledge and happy to answer any questions. The building was nice and quiet, with no noisy neighbours. It's located near to public transport as well as being a really easy walk into the town. It's on quite a quiet street, so it's nice to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down. The bed was comfortable enough for a week's stay and it was nice to have different areas to sit in downstairs to make the most use of the space.
Negative: It would have been useful if the listing stated that the apartment isn't just on the top floor, but on the top floor of a 5 storey building, meaning 11 flights of stairs to get up to it! The curtains on one side of the property needed rehanging as they were falling down (as noted by Tom when he met us), and there were some areas which would have benefitted from a deeper clean. The kitchen was generally well equipped, but would have benefited from some basic condiments (salt/pepper/oil etc) to make use of the stove without having to buy ingredients as soon as you arrive, and some of the cabinets have seen better days. Similarly there is a coffee machine but you'll need to bring your own pods / sugar.
