Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Location is great, super close to the cathedral and city center. You can see the cathedral from the shower. Host answered all questions quickly and was as helpful as possible.
Negative: At ground floor, on the stairs leading to the apartment there is an open door from the restaurant/pub that is in the building, hence a lot of smoke and kitchen smell on the stairs. Plenty of warnings about smoking in the apartment and yet the first thing that hit us entering the apartment was the smell of cigarettes of which we found an ashtray full to the brim on the kitchen window sill. When I asked the host about it it replied: "Sorry, I'll talk to the cleaning team". Even after opening all windows during our stay the cigarette smell was persistent. Apartment was definitely well decorated and equipped at some point in time if you look at the advert pictures. However now it looked definitely poorly maintained, windows open and close with difficulty and noise isolation from outside is not great (the fact that the above mentioned pub is open until 11:30PM does not help if you want to get to bed early), walls have multiple marks, one bedroom door was badly hit and in one room there was a dirty padded chair. Kitchen equipment is minimal, toilet without sink (you need to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom with the sink and shower).
Summary: Great location, responsive host, if the maintenance improves significantly it could be a nice spot.
