Check Out The River-Waterfront Canal Leads To River, 1 Canoe/ 2 Single Kayaks | House in Weeki Wachee

2 Bedroom House in Weeki Wachee Gardens, Weeki Wachee
Home is in quaint river community of about 6 or 7 streets all dead end at the water. Home has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 1 bedroom has two two double beds with a TV, other bedroom has a queen bed with a half bath & TV. The living room has a futon that makes into a small double bed & a comfy couch, so it could sleep 8. The kitchen has everything you need including microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, mixer, blender, crockpot, pots-n-pans, etcetera. A gas barbecue is located under the carport. Please turn the gas OFF after you use the grill and clean the grill. Rental comes with 1 canoe and 2 single kayaks-you'll save a bundle not having to rent. The house is clean and comfortable and the porch with the water view is great but really you need to get out on the river and experience true Old Florida at it's finest. The yard is fenced in but open at the water.
we recently put a new dock and seawall in and you can fish right off the dock-permit maybe required, check with local fishing authorities to be sure
go to the right on the canal to reach the weeki wachee river Once you get out of the quaint neighborhood the trip to the river is totally peaceful and serene, tranquil Old Florida at its finest. At the mouth of the river, the water is super clear. Many canoes and kayaks stop here and go for a swim. The water is a constant 72 degrees coming up out of the springs. Go to the left-up the river towards the headsprings or to the right-down river towards the Gulf and Rogers Park.. Both directions offer beautiful scenery, where you will more than likely encounter a manatee. The Gulf of Mexico is about10 miles...
be sure to check out the river If you aren't comfortable in the kayak and canoes, just go to the Upper Deck and sit by the river, or Rogers Park and go in the river at the beach, or Pine Island or Bayport Beaches. You can also go to Weeki Wachee Springs Park, in addition to the mermaid show, the park admission includes a pontoon boat ride on the river and usually you will see the manatees there as well. linda pederson park off shoal line has an observation tower that has a fantastic view anytime but especially nice at sunset and it's free!
the house has a manual inside with all the details of the house and check out procedures as well as local restaurants and maps etcetera There is a lockbox on the door for guests to check themselves in and out. Code will be given to you closer to your arrival date. Wi-Fi is in house and tv is streamed.
it should be noted that the home is clean, cute & comfortable and has everything you need, but not fancy It is exactly as depicted in the photos. It is set up for people who want to enjoy the river and not Hilton-like. If you are looking for something fancy, look elsewhere. It is an older doublewide mobile home. My guests come for the river experience, the wildlife and the nature environment and to explore the area. See the reviews our guests have left with an overall rating of 4.7 (out of 5) that is a good indication of what to expect. Some guests write illegitimate things so you need to take them with that perspective. Overall the reviews are great as the 4.7 star rating indicates. One Guest left a review recently that was 5 Stars and they loved it there and included that they didn't go out on river due to a gator being in the canal. IF there is a gator in the canal it’s always only a small one and it's there because someone is feeding it. I have a note that says to be aware of gators just so guests are aware that there may be a gator but that gator is looking for you to feed it. You always need to be aware of your surroundings but unless you are not aware of a gator, and have food, you should be able to get in and out of kayak without the gator disturbing you. Do not feed gators. Always watch if you have small dogs or children. The gators have never come on the dock as they have much easier sun spots available. Gators are part of Florida and nature. They were here first and we are in their back yard.
