the space:
the home is located down a long driveway surrounded by manicured landscapes Though the home is located in a neighborhood, the home gives the feeling of a private oasis. The entryway has the original brickwork preserved, along with a direct access to the kitchen, living area, and bedroom/office upstairs.
the kitchen as well as the dining area right next-door is nestled in, yet feels open, with the stovetop looking out over the gardens, and a full suite of stainless steel appliances, cookware, and serving ware for yourself, family, and friends The living space is vast, with the large windows facing south which allows the sun to enter the space. Half bath also available on this floor. A pool table is located right off the living space, convertible to a ping pong table.
upstairs is where all three bedrooms are located with wonderful views no matter where you are standing in the home of the nearby kankakee river and the gardens An office area overlooks the living space, with curtains to close off if desired as a sleeping space with a full bed available. The full bath is located on the top floor.
in the backyard, when in season, is an in ground pool for you to enjoy, with many seating areas for dining, lounging, hammocking, and otherwise enjoying the sun and your loved one's presence A private sunroom is located just off the back of the garage for another private hangout space, with a TV available, along with an ice maker and fridge. Off the back of the sunroom is a private stream area that we lovingly call the 'Zen' space, perfect for meditating, enjoying the sound of the stream, and being amongst nature, a break from the normal.

located in the same historic riverview neighborhood as the historic frank lloyd wright home, along with the kankakee river, boat club, boat dock, country club, beckman park and cobb park with tennis courts being within walking distance
welcoming and loving neighborhood A mile from downtown Kankakee, and two miles to Olivet Nazarene. Lots of great places to hang out and eat nearby, our favorites include Stefari Cafe for coffee and tea, Rigo's Place for the best seafood dinner, and Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand for a quick bite. Grapes and Hops is a wonderful wine bar with more than just wine. if you would like any questions of any sort please feel free to send us a message!

getting around:
parking wherever you go is very approachable, and we also have our local bus transit system, the river valley metro, plus a greyhound and amtrak station within walking distance All of downtown Kankakee about a mile, plus some great bike paths nearby.
we are also a few homes away from walking trails and biking paths that go along the river!

for any pets we charge a pet fee, please let me know if your furry friends will be joining you prior to your stay We occasionally have guests who are allergic to pets and need to know ahead of time if pets will be around to accommodate them with a deeper clean.
no smoking of any kind is allowed within the walls of the property, please use the large outdoor spaces as needed! this includes vape pens and e-cigarettes
we do not allow unauthorized events or parties Please let me know ahead of time so we can work out any details for your event, along with settling an event fee. Parking rules, quiet hours, and an extra cleaning fee may apply. We need to acquire separate liability insurance for events or parties, and we cannot continue a reservation if an event is found to be occurring without prior approval, per VRBO policy.
