Positive: Location: the stunning view (see pic) is what you come for and I think all the rooms look down the valley. They have big balconies. Bed: massive 4-poster with a much needed and highly effective mosquito net. The 4-poster means you have lots of room inside the net. Because you are above the trees and lush green valley, there are lots of insects, birds, some squirrels, and Macaque monkeys that may visit your balcony. Room: I had a double height room with full height windows and a private balcony. I think all the rooms have windows like this. I highly recommend staying here for the view. It is also close to walk to a nearby hill. I think this is Little Adam's Peak, not to be confused with Adam's Peak elsewhere. Communal area: nice, easy, traveller-vibe space that serves cocktails! This is a 3-star property in a really great position.
Negative: The bathroom is very dated but everything worked well. There was nowhere to hang or put your clothes, not even a chair. Nor was there a luggage stand on which to put your case. The room was large so there was no shortage of space for a wardrobe amd luggage stand. Lighting: hardly anywhere i have stayed in Sri Lanka has soft lighting in the bedroom. If you want to read in bed or be affectionate w a partner, interrogation-grade lighting would not be the first choice!
