This newer building is a 3 min walk from a gorgeous sand beach that stretches for 30 kms. The sunsets are stunning. Matapalo is a quiet beach town with a few restaurants & small grocery stores. You'll enjoy the nature sounds at night and the many birds and other wildlife like toucans, sloths, monkeys and salamanders. A short drive North is Quepos and Manuel Antonio national Park. 15 min drive South brings you to Dominical, a small and hip surfer town with shops, yoga, restaurants & surf lessons.

The beach is pristine, yet to be discovered by most travellers. Close by are the popular tourist destinations of Dominical, a quaint surf town, and Manuel Antonio, an internationally renowned Nature Reserve, known for its diverse wildlife and active restaurant and bar scene. The local restaurants near Matapalo serve delicious food. The nearest "large town" is Quepos, about a 20mn drive away. This is where you will find large supermarkets, pharmacies, clothing stores, hospital, clinic, dentist and so on and an airstrip serviced by Sansa Air to San Jose.
