the light filled agave cottage is a lovely 3 bedroom contemporary beach house providing the perfect accommodation for couples, families or groups wanting to escape to "the real australia"
located in secluded sandy point, just 200km from the cbd, the idyllic location, ample facilities and convenience to the entire south gippsland make it the perfect base for a holiday any time of year with activities to suit all types of weather and interests, you are certain to have a great time with everything on offer here, you will be sure to return again soon!
the house
positioned on a spacious 600 sqm block, dotted with native trees, the house itself was completed in 2009 and has all the benefits and facilities of a new build The modern beach house features sunny light-filled living areas that open out onto a large outdoor deck with seating for 8, and a gas BBQ. There is also an indoor dining area and a well-appointed kitchen including a dishwasher and microwave.
the three bedrooms and shower-room comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, with 2 queen size beds and 4 single beds in total (bedroom 1: queen; bedroom 2: queen & bunk; bedroom 3: 2 single) Bedding (quilts and pillows) for all beds is provided but guests need to supply their own linen: sheets, covers, tea-towels and towels.
the living area has comfortable seating with a television, dvd/blue ray and great stereo which connects to any head-jack There are even some board games to help keep everyone entertained well into the evening.
longer stays are made easier with the washing machine/ironing facility Pets are welcome; but not in the house.
the fencing around the property is adequately secure for dogs but please don't disturb any koalas sleeping in the trees!
there is parking to the front of the property for 2 cars and a hot outside shower for beach goers and surfers/windsurfers
internet is available at the property

the location
picturesque sandy point beach is a pleasant 3 minute walk away at ned neales with the patrolled beach 10 minutes walk from the house near the local milk bar The Shallow Inlet, famous for wind surfing and fishing is a short 5 minute drive. Other Sandy Point recreation facilities suitable for children and families include the mini golf on the foreshore, the Surf Lifesaving Club, Children's Playgrounds, Tennis courts and a half basketball court.
numerous recreation and relaxation facilities are within reach such as golf courses, bush walks, fine restaurants and of course the south gippsland's popular wineries and art galleries Accessible to both Wilson's Promontory and South Gippsland the location makes it an easy drive to the popular Squeaky Beach, Waratah Bay, Inverloch and Port Franklin.

Guests will be asked to leave the premises without notice should noise or nuisance complaints be received or if the number of guests exceeds the number confirmed at time of booking.

the neighborhood:
situated approximately 25 hours from Melbourne and approx. 40 mins to Wilsons Promontory. The property is located close to the Ocean beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. At Sandy Point there is a Surf Lifesaving club which patrols the beach over summer; they also have a bar, occasional meals and events.
launch a boat from shallow inlet for or enjoy kite surfing & jet skiing (not supplied)
the sandy point general store is the hub for groceries, bait, boat hire, petrol, gas, alcohol and an australia post outlet
paradise point café is the only café is town and has snacks, sit down & takeaway meals, a beer garden, live entertainment over summer
a small mini golf course is located next to our office on beach parade
playgrounds & public bbq areas are located next to the sandy point hall
tennis courts are located behind the sandy point hall and equipment can be hired from the

if you are staying at port welshpool you are very close to the world famous port welshpool long jetty, and the departure jetty for cruises to wilson's prom, as well as port albert and other towns
if you are staying at fish creek or waratah bay, it's only a short trip to meeniyan, driving on some of the most picturesque country roads in south gippsland
if you are staying in toora, you are only 20 minutes from foster, and surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of south gippsland
getting around:
sandy point is a small coastal town, so walking is the preferred method of getting around Cars are required to get around if you wish to explore the country side and surrounding areas.
other things to note:
due to the closure of the gippsland power stations, during peak times (ie. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control.
each property in sandy point is on tank water and septic systems
