5 acre A-Frame near Torch Lake, Shanty Schuss Mtn, Traverse City & Kalkaska | Cabin in Mancelona

2 Bedroom Cabin in Mancelona
Originally built in 1995, this A-frame lodge was once a rustic hunting and fishing cabin. It lived many years as a seasonal property before evolving into what you see today. This peaceful cabin sits amongst 5 acres of beautiful maple trees. What drew us to this property was the quaint Northern Michigan location and the knotty pine interior. There is something welcoming and relaxing about a peaceful, rustic-feeling retreat in the woods. This is how The Lodge: Our Northern Knotty was born.
the space
this cozy retreat is ideal for couples but fits up to five people (**max 4 adults**) looking for a place to detach, surrounded by towering maple trees Inside you’ll find a kitchen with all the necessities and then some. (Unless a dishwasher is a necessity!) There is a peninsula with two stools, a stocked coffee and tea bar, and cozy seating in the living room around the wood stove. A staircase leads to the open loft where you will find a queen bed, closet, dresser, side table, ceiling fan, chair overlooking the loft, and desk with its own chair. On the main floor across from the bathroom is a small bunk room containing narrow twin bunks and a cubby-style dresser for some storage. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, vanity, wall heater, and standing shower (no tub). The mudroom is the perfect drop-zone and features the laundry area - we have an air mattress with a mattress topper available in this space for additional sleeping arrangements. There is an outdoor fire pit with four Adirondack chairs, along with wood provided at no extra charge for your use. The patio has a picnic table with an umbrella, a gas grill, and a charcoal grill (charcoal not provided). Please note there are two hammock hookups just past the fire pit; hammocks can be found in their bags inside the rope basket in the mudroom. The house has mini splits to control the heat and cooling.
