5 Bedroom House in Lavorgo, Calonico
Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model offers a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

The entrance door leads to the kitchen on the right, where there is a small dining table. To the left of the corridor is a double bedroom with its own shower/WC. Directly accessible from the kitchen or from the corridor is the large fireplace room with a large dining table and a typical Ticino fireplace, which creates a cosy atmosphere. Next to the dining room is the living room and next to it a smaller parlour with an exit to the other side of the house. A steep staircase leads from the dining room to the 1st floor. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. One with a shower/WC and one with a bathtub/WC. Another single room is located one floor higher. From the corridor you can see the covered and unsecured attic through a glass wall. The floors are made of wood and stone, which is why we recommend good slippers.
